Jeff West
Vice President of Design Services
Jeff West joins Tundra following the acquisition of Silicon Logic Engineering, Inc (SLE) of Eau Claire, WI in 2006. He was previously President and a Founder of SLE, a well-known, high-end ASIC design services company.
Jeff West brings 25 years of senior level management and engineering experience in the electronics industry to Tundra Semiconductor. Prior to founding SLE, Mr. West spent 13 years at Cray Research as part of an elite team of integrated circuit design engineers developing ICs for Cray Research's leading supercomputers, including the J90- Cray Research's best selling product. Mr. West also held management roles at Prisma Supercomputers during the design of the company's first computer, the P1, a Gallium Arsenide SPARC supercomputer.
Under Mr. West's leadership as VP of Design Services, the SLE team will continues to serve their existing and growing customer base.
Mike Berry
Chief Technology Officer, Design Services
Mike Berry has more than 15 years of electronic systems design and engineering expertise. Prior to SLE's inception, Mr. Berry was at Cray Research where he was a key contributor to a number of the company's ASIC and system-level development projects. Mr. Berry was also the primary technical interface for the technology relationship with IBM's ASIC group during Cray's development of the J90 family of supercomputers. Before Cray Research, Mr. Berry was at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) Microelectronics Research Center where he was responsible for establishing and supervising a new facility for 2um CMOS integrated circuit development. Mr. Berry is an active member of the X-initiative and is also a former board member of the IEEE Custom Integrated Circuits Conference (CICC) where he contributed to the conference's technical programs. Mr. Berry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Drew University and a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from NJIT.
Bob Solberg
Director of Engineering, Design Services
Bob Solberg is responsible for overseeing SLE's technical operations and brings over 26 years experience in senior management, project management, design verification, training, and technical writing to the company. Mr. Solberg works closely with SLE's engineering team and program managers to ensure the company's commitment to quality and customer value is realized. Prior to co-founding SLE, Mr. Solberg worked at Cray Research where he held multiple engineering management positions, including management roles for the Cray J90, J90-SE, SV-1, YMP-EL, and T3E supercomputer projects. Prior to Cray Research, Mr. Solberg worked at Control Data Corporation in the Cyber computer engineering group. Mr. Solberg holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin.
Steve Phillips
Technology Director, Design Services
Steve Phillips has 23 years experience in all aspects of very large, high-speed ASIC and system design for several leading-edge supercomputer companies. As Director of Research and Development, Mr. Phillips coordinates Intellectual Property Development, ASIC Design and Implementation Methodology Development, ECAD Tool Development, and Computer/Networking Studies. He is also a Program Manager for key SLE customer projects and oversees all Information Technology issues at SLE. Prior to co-founding SLE, Mr. Phillips held engineering and management positions at Cray Research, Convex Computer, ETA Systems, and Chen Systems. Mr. Phillips has worked on over a dozen leading edge ASIC chip sets and has managed many of SLE's right-first-time chipsets. Mr. Phillips earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
Lonnie Heidtke
Director of Sales, Design Services
Lonnie Heidtke is responsible for sales and SLE's strategic partners. He brings over 26 years senior management, engineering, design, and training experience to the company. Prior to joining SLE, Mr. Heidtke held senior management positions at Cray Research, SGI, Unisys Corp., Tonbu Inc., and Sequent Computer. At Sequent, Mr. Heidtke held the position of project and design team manager for the company's IA64 memory projects. Mr. Heidtke's roles at Cray Research and SGI included technical program manager, electrical engineering manager, trainer for supercomputer system theory and maintenance classes, and senior logic designer. Mr. Heidtke attended the Chippewa Valley Technical College and Lakeland College, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science.
